Trivandrum: A man riding a motor cycle luckily escaped a collision, on the 5th of May 2018 at around 10:00 am, at the Chankurutty-Venkulam road in Parassala in Trivandrum. The rider of the motor cycle who somehow managed to get his motor cycle out of those holes on the road, said that such incidences are very common on that road. Senior citizens and pregnant ladies have a tough time passing from here. As the vehicles in which they travel gives them a feel of a roller-coaster ride. An order has been passed by the concerned department of Kerala for the renovation of this road by tarring it. People residing here mostly work at far off places; this road is the only way to reach the main Parassala-Kollemcode road.
Since this region comes in the border area of Tamil Nadu and Kerala, it was a major reason that the repairing of this road was ignored due to inter-state clashes. Only the region that falls in the Kerala state will be tarred as per the recent order. Which means that, the bad state of the road will still continue to be so, even after an amount of 50 Lakhs has been passed to renovate it.During rainy seasons, the roads are filled with accumulation of muddy water. The government has not taken a combined decision for both the Kerala and Tamil Nadu roads here. Today the people have expressed their pain of being in the border region. Most of the time government's decision here, goes useless as it is implemented only in either of the 2 states or better to say in half of the regions here.
Even after tarring, at each point the parts of the road which won’t be worked upon will keep reminding the people that the concerned department did not bother to see their pains and had passed a partial order.
